Summary: After Lynn Kerr’s husband dumps her for a friend, she moves from New Mexico to New York. Eldest daughter Karen expects to make it there as a model, but is soon told her arrogant confidence is utterly misplaced. Nerdy younger daughter Sophie takes up a scholarship at the prestigious Brighton Academy. There youngster form named cliques, but only one matters: the BP, ‘beautiful people’, actually spoiled brats of the happy few. Gideon Lustig, a loner, immediately befriends Sophie. His hatred for the BP complicates her acceptance trough charming would be-author Nicholas ‘Nick’ Fiske, who made a BP-bet to seduce her. His dad, publisher Julian Fiske, is Karen’s ex.
