Synopsis
The Fire Nation is waging a ruthless, oppressive war against the other three nations. The film’s hero, the reluctant young Aang is the “Last Airbender” — the Avatar, who, according to prophecy, has the ability to manipulate all of the elements and bring all the nations together. Aided by a protective teenage Waterbender named Katara and her bull-headed brother Sokka, Aang proceeds on a perilous journey to restore balance to their war-torn world.

Jackson’s Role
Sokka’s most prized possession is his boomerang, a traditional Water Tribe weapon given to him by his father. Unlike his younger sister Katara, he does not posses any bending abilities – and thinks that Waterbending sometimes brings more troubles than solutions. Sokka believes that planning strategies and thinking things through is the smart way to fight against the Fire Nation. He’ll do anything to protect his family and friends and has no problem taking on soldiers with his bare hands and warrior tactics if necessary.

Quotes On The Last Airbender

“For me, it’s a great chance to show my range a little bit more, it’s a chance to do something a little funnier. Something less serious than Jasper.”

“It’s just an action-packed, epic film. I’m starting to do martial-arts training, which is going to be so much fun, and we’re doing a lot of interesting work with the green screen. It’s such a mythical world. We get to go to Asia, go film abroad. It’s just going to be such a blast.”

“Aw, man I got to do a lot of fight scenes in ‘Airbender’, it was fun for me, because I grew up a little bit in Texas, and did a little Texas football. So, that little contact is good every once in a while; it kind of lets the aggression out.”

“Jasper is so composed and kind of holding it all back, so getting to play a character where I can just run into people was great! I got to do this fight scene where I get attacked by three different people at the same time; I’m running through a battle trying to find my little sister, worried about where she is, and this guy charges me with a sword! So, I make the split decision to just tackle him, take him straight to the ground, and then someone else comes behind me and tries to slash me in the back – so I pull that guy over me, and he hits his own guy.”

“I auditioned for over a year for the role of Prince Zuko. I went in for reading with Night [M. Night Shyamalan]. Night said that the reading was too dark so I offered to read another character to show Night that I could do both sides of the character. I read the part of Sokka and I had fun reading this part. After I was done Night told me that he was going to Sokka instead of Prince Zuko. At first I said “no” because I really wanted Zuko. I had two months of Kung Fu training and we trained on off days, but I cannot kick to save my life. I can maybe fight a baby with my kicks.”
