The plan was to spend one night in the abandoned Royal Crescent Hotel, where in 1985, five students were murdered, their killer never found. What was supposed to be just a night of fun, hunting for the victims’ bloodstained rooms, suddenly changes when they find a severed hand and awake an evil presence within the hotel. Now they are running for their lives, trying to solve a mystery one hundred years old-and morning is still very far away.
Character Information
Although older than Jessica Stroup, Jackson plays her younger brother, Connor.
• The director, Cartney Wearn, went to great pains to convince the actors in pre-production that the severed hands their characters would discover inside the abandoned Royal Crescent Hotel would be real cadaver hands. He made them follow strict protocol when handling the “real” corpse hands on set, and even had the props department take great pains to maintain the illusion. And they did not in fact see the hands until they shot their first take. So the reactions you see in the film are real, even if the hands aren’t.
• The hotel the cast and crew filmed the movie in was rumored to be haunted.
• First “major” film Jackson starred in.
• Pray for Morning won one award at the Moondance International Film Festival in 2007. It won the Columbine Award. It was in the Film Score catergory, and Vincent Gillioz won.
Ashley: “Having fun little brother?”
Connor: “Why yes I am.”
Topher: “Yes we are!”
Ashley: “Who the hell let you guys in here?”
Topher: “Are you kidding me? We are so getting action tonight!”
Jesse: “There it is, the Royal Crescent Hotel.”
Connor: “Um, didn’t like a bunch of people die there in the 80′s?”
Jesse: “Not a bunch of people Connor, a bunch of kids. Just like us… They went in to spend the night on a lark, a goof, they didn’t make it out.”
Topher: “This is really awesome…”
Connor: “It worked okay! I nearly shit my pants! You guys can come out now!”
Topher: “Yeah, good one Jesse.”
Jesse: “Guys!”
Topher: “No really, I did shit my pants. I swear to god.”
