“The Hunger Games”! “Twilight”!
These were the movies “MTV Movie Awards” host Russell Brand kept shamelessly mentioning during Sunday evening’s telecast to elicit screams from the youthful audience at the Gibson Amphitheatre. Indeed, many of the stars of the popular franchises were on hand to please fans, from Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner to Josh Hutcherson.
So, sure, there were A-list stars. But things weren’t all glamour at the award show. And since we here at the Ministry of Gossip aim to give you the real Hollywood scoop, here are five things you didn’t see on TV last night.
…
3. Fewer “Twilight” stars.
On any red carpet, you can expect to see at minimum one actor who has appeared in the “Twilight” franchise. Boo-Boo Stewart, for example, seems to show up at most events which he has seemingly little relationship to. Indeed, he was there Sunday night, but with the series winding down, there were fewer “Twilight” stars in attendance than usual — even though the last installment of the vampire series was named best film of the year. We did catch up with Jackson Rathbone, who told us about one of the more annoying things that comes with being a star of the series.
“It’s opened a lot of doors for waiters to ask me if it’s OK to have garlic at a restaurant,” he explained. “If I order the garlic chicken, they’ll ask, ‘Are you sure?’ I love garlic, so it’s very annoying.”
