TWILIGHT PRODIGY PARTNERS WITH NEW CASTLE FOR NATIONWIDE TOUR
Jackson Rathbone and his band, 100 Monkeys, hit the road
(August 28, 2009) Los Angeles – New Castle Entertainment announced today that they have partnered with Jackson Rathbone and his band, 100 Monkeys, to schedule and promote a one hundred city tour that will kick off September 12th in Vancouver. Rathbone is in Vancouver filming ‘Eclipse’, the third installment of the Twilight saga.
Jackson recently completed filming M. Night Shyamalan’s The Last Air Bender in Pennsylvania. While he was there, he and the band completed a two-month East Coast tour, with every show sold out. The band is made up of Rathbone’s high school confidantes, Ben Graupner and Ben Johnson, along with his friends Jerad Anderson and Lawrence Abrams.
The thing that makes the band so unique is that each member can play every instrument. In between songs, one of them yells ’switcharoo’ and they all switch instruments. “It’s amazing to see musicians that can play six or seven different instruments without missing a beat. There’s never a dull moment when they’re on stage,” said Tim Crockett of New Castle Entertainment.
Many thanks to Robert Pattinson Unlimited for these! We finally have two shots of Jackson on the set of Eclipse from today!

Thanks so much to Lindsay of Hollywood Crush for informing us about the revealing and exclusive interview with the lead female of ‘Girlfriend’!
With 13 weeks until “New Moon” hits theaters, Jackson Rathbone has plenty to keep him busy. Beyond work on “Eclipse” and “Avatar: The Last Airbender,” Jackson is starring in and producing the 2010 film “Girlfriend.” Hollywood Crush was lucky enough to speak with Shannon Woodward, who was just cast as the film’s titular girlfriend. Shannon will be playing Candy, the former high school sweetheart of Jackson’s character.Below, check out our exclusive Q&A with the actress, 24, who you probably know best from last year’s horror flick “The Haunting of Molly Hartley” and the 2007-08 F/X series “The Riches” (she played Minnie Driver and Eddie Izzard’s expert pick-pocketing daughter). Don’t worry, we asked her the most important question: Is she ready to take on some of that “Twilight” fan base that already follows her costar? Keep reading to find out!
HOLLYWOOD CRUSH: Tell me a bit about “Girlfriend” — what is your character like?
SHANNON WOODWARD: “Girlfriend” is kind of like a strange love story, but with several different people involved. I think my character is kind of a troubled, incredibly young mother who has very different and, at some points, very strained and strange relationships with several different people, like romantic relationships.
How would you categorize the film? Would you call it a romance?
No. its like a very strange, dark, indie drama. I wouldn’t call it a love story, but there are certainly love stories involved. I think that they’re all love stories in different characters eyes, but its kind of a tragedy.
What do you think about the reveal of Jackson’s newest co-star?
Here are two great old commercials Jackson did for an anti-smoking campaign! The videos have been uploaded to our youtube channel and will shortly be added in our Media Center as well. Captures are in the gallery although the first set isn’t that good of quality because of the video. Regardless, enjoy!
Also, huge thanks to Kim for graciously allowing us to post her photos from the Sambuca show! Don’t forget to read the review she wrote for the site here!

Which commercial did you enjoy more? The first one was just too hilarious not to like.
Hello guys! Here’s Theresa’s lovely review from the Spencer Bell Legacy and Lucky Strike shows last weekend! You can read the entire thing after the cut. Here are a few videos from the Legacy shows. Be sure to check out the “Theresa” improv song Ben G (and Jerad!) sang for her. Totally sweet!
You can find TONS more from the shows (including more vids of The Stevedores, The real Orson Brawl and Tin Tin Can) via her youtube channel! Enjoy!
The Spencer Bell Legacy Shows were AMAZING. And when I say amazing, I mean these shows truly topped the show I got to experience in February.
The whole afternoon started around two when the doors opened. It was nice to be back in Callahan’s knowing the treat we were about to get, but not knowing how special an event it was going to be.
First and foremost, Bill Bell came out do the amazing introduction, and welcome everyone and thank us all for attending the event to celebrate the life of his son, Spencer.
Next came Johanna and Shannon to talk to us about the wonderful raffles that were being held to raise money for the legacy and things of that nature.
Next came the wonderful and saddening Tourist Tribute to Spencer Bell. It’s a beautiful video that will leave not a dry eye in the house.
Then came the most wonderful band I’ve seen to date (sorry my 100 Monkeys, I do love you, but I think these guys stole my heart.) The Stevedores took the stage and the whole show blew me away. I’ve owned a copy of Tamuawok for quite sometime now, but nothing I could ever dream of could have prepared me for the show that those four men put on for us. They played a variety of songs from Advice to Thunderdome, Fearful to Hardwired, Top Hat Big Hands to I Heard It On The Radio. I was blown away by their set.
Once again, the amazing Theresa has provided us with gorgeous shots from the 100 Monkeys gig at Lucky Strike! Images are in the gallery, so check ‘em out!
Also, since Jackson wasn’t able to attend any of the Spencer Bell shows, he did manage to call in during it. Thanks to youtube user dvslei, you can watch/listen to his call below.
Orlando Bloom did it a few years ago with “Lord of the Rings” and “Pirates of the Caribbean.” Samuel L. Jackson sort of had it going on with the “Star Wars” and “xXx” films. And Ian McKellen might have been the king, as he balanced the “LOTR” and “X-Men” movies for years… in his 60s! Now, could Jackson Rathbone be the next actor to pull off the rare simultaneous-double-franchise trick?“
Aw, man I got to do a lot of fight scenes in ‘Airbender’,” the affable “Twilight” star explained to us when we asked about his recently-wrapped upcoming blockbuster based on the “Avatar: The Last Airbender” TV cartoon show. “It was fun for me, because I grew up a little bit in Texas, and did a little Texas football. So, that little contact is good every once in a while; it kind of lets the aggression out.”
Directed by “The Sixth Sense” filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan, “Airbender” will bring the story of element-harnessing Avatars to the big screen next July. Rathbone portrays Sokka, a Southern Water tribe Warrior who helps the heroic Aang battle evil. If all goes well, the filmmakers have stated their intent to make it the first part of a trilogy, which would presumably shoot while Rathbone finishes out his work as “Twilight” character Jasper Hale.
What do you guys think about this comparison?
