First of all, Marie, who attended the convention as well, sent in her adorable encounter/experience at the convention, you can read half of it below. To read the rest, click the link to take you to the encounters page. Her story is the bottom one of the page!
I went to the Salute to Twilight convention for the weekend and everything was so fun, all the actors were so kind and fun to be around, but my main purpose of going was to see Jackson! It wasn’t that much but I did get to see him up close 3 times! First I saw him onstage for his concert with his band 100 Monkeys, and when he first came out I got soo excited I almost cried! My friend and I got pretty close to the front of the stage and he was right there!
I’ve added a ton of pictures from the 100 Monkeys show on Saturday, quite a few amazing shots by Theresa (whom I had the greatest pleasure of meeting!), a couple by me and some by the lucky oldincisions from livejournal. Pictures from the convention itself are also in the gallery, donated by oldincisions, Eastbound and mstisay.

Lookin’ forward to hearing and seeing everyone’s experience!
It’s pretty long, but here’s my Salute To Twilight Experience. Well, technically, just things I remember from the Q&A’s with Rachelle, Jackson and Ashley!
I’ll have a “review” later about the Salute to Twilight Convention from this weekend including the 100 Monkeys show that took place on Saturday. In the mean time, enjoy this video of Jackson trying to run like Rob. And here’s some small facts from the convention:
- Jackson confirmed his full name is Monroe Jackson Rathbone V.
- The Cullens were meant to be part of the prom scene in Twilight and went as far as taking dance classes and choosing out outfits for the scene.
- Rachelle Lefevre mentioned going with Elizabeth Reaser to watch Rob and Jackson do some open mic gigs next to the hotel they were staying out during filming for the film.
The official S. Darko trailer has finally hit the web! To view it, just visit the official site. Jackson is featured a bit in it which is awesome! Captures have been added to the gallery!

What are your thoughts on the trailer? Are you buying the DVD once it hits stores?
Some information about Eclipse!
‘Twilight’ exclusive: Chris Weitz will not direct third film, ‘Eclipse’
Chris Weitz will not direct the third film in the Twilight series, Eclipse, a source close to the production tells EW.com exclusively. Because New Moon, which Weitz is helming, and Eclipse are due to be released so close together (on Nov. 20, 2009, and June 30, 2010, respectively), Weitz will be in post-production on New Moon at the same time that Eclipse will be shooting. That said, the source confirms a report that the movies will not be shot simultaneously or back-to-back; there will be a brief gap between the production of both films.

I’d like to begin by making a quick apology for not posting a review of the show on February 10th. Your faithful reviewer had real life complications, which prevented me from making my usual early arrival to the show. I missed the first two bands, and half a review is no review at all.
Now on to the review…
A very lucky fan, Theresa sent in her encounter story about meeting Jackson, Ben G, Ben J and Jerad during the Spencer Legacy Show. You can read the awesome story below! Along with this, I’ve added her amazing photos to the gallery and the photos Lydia posted in her review courtesy of Nikki M. Photography! Thanks girls!
A week or so before the spencer bell show i sat down and crocheted 4 hats, one for each of the guys in 100 Monkeys. Its what i do when i get bored. Crotchet i mean. So anyway. I made these hats, and shoved them in my bookbag and hopped on a plane from Jacksonville Florida. The show was awesome, and all through it i’m trying to figure out how i am going to give them these hats since the merch girls that work at Callahans told us that they wernt going to be doing meet and greet time like they do in LA. So i’m comming up with random ideas like tossing them on the stage at them and other silly ideas. All obviously got ruled out. Finally my mom says “why dont you go talk to the guy that has been announcing the bands.” What a great idea she had. So i ask him how i would go about giving something to the guys and he says talk to Mr. Bell. So i talked to him and he tells me he will see what he can do. So the improv set closes and its time to go. My mom and i are strolling around and I’m beginning to think that i will just give them to them in LA or something, next time i go out there. So she goes over and asks Mr. Bell where we can wait to see if I will be able to give the hats to the guys. He totally forgot with so much going on, which is understandable, but he had us sit at this table..and a couple minutes later Chris from Tin Tin Can came over and asked who had the knit hats. And I said i did, so he said Okay, follow me. So mom and i went back and he had us wait outside the offices that they were in that doubled as a backstage area. And then he came back a couple minutes later and we went in. On the way in, one of the guys said “she made us something? What is it?” and someone else said “She made us hats.” So when i got into the back room with them Jerad looked at me and said “You really made us hats?” and i stood there looking at all 4 of them so lost, and just nodded my head. So i took them out one by one, and handed them to each of the guys, Jerad’s black, Ben J’s brown, Jackson’s gray, and Ben G’s blue. They said they loved them and actually stood around talkin to us for about 15 mins. And i told them that I had actually been to two of their shows in LA, and they were like WOW!? So they did a picture with the hats on with my mom and I and random bits of paper for us then we let them be.

Daze director, Jeff Dean, posted a new blog on the Daze myspace regarding the status of the film and what the cast and crew has been up to since wrapping up. To read the blog, click here. Here’s a snippet of it.
Jackson, Ben, Uncle Larry, Nshan are part of 100 monkeys (along with ben #2 and Jrad) a rock, folk, blues band that’s playing regularly at 24k lounge in Hollywood (owned by our very own miller and nshan) on Tuesday nights. They recently cut their first ep at our new artists consortium recording studio.
We’ve finally launched The Fanlistings approved fanlisting for the 100 Monkeys. Join today! Also, there is now a myspace for the site (even though I hate myspace) which you can add here.
Finally, if you’re attending the Salute To Twilight Convention this weekend in San Franscico, California (which I will be attending!), and would like to possibly meet up with other fans, we have a thread for this particular event in the forums which you access right here.

In a small sit-down bar and grill in Auburn Hills, Michigan, several bands came together February 7, 2009 to celebrate the life and talent of Spencer Bell. Spencer Bell was a young man who was infinitely talented and taken away too soon by Adrenal Cancer, he was only 20 years old when he left this world. On a day when most people are surrounded by family and turkey dinner, Spencer went into the hospital for stomach pains, it was Thanksgiving day, 2006. Six short days later, he was diagnosed with Adrenal Cancer, and when five more had passed, Spencer was taken away to the severe grief and loss of his family, friends and fans.
Added screencaptures of Jackson from the Twilight Soundbites interview to the gallery along with some scans from various magazines (That Marissa and DiamondHeart!) and outtakes from the Vanity Fair Twilight Cast shoot.

Here’s the promised 100 Monkeys update! Huge thanks to Steph and Mary for sending in their pictures from the Spencer Bell Legacy Show! They’ve also sent in a very awesome video where Jackson can be seen dancing. Along with that, here’s a cute encounter story they experienced!
Well, my friend and I went to the Spencer Bell Legacy Show on Saturday. We got this bright idea to give him a picture of my cat Pumpkin for Dean. I wrote To Dean, XOXO Pumpkin on the back. Ok, so maybe it was just a ploy to get to say something to him that wasn’t “OMG, I love you Jackson!!!” cuz maybe I ummm put my phone number on the back of it also. Ahem. LOL. Anyway, so its the end of the show and I’m in the front row and they are getting ready to get off stage. I said Jackson’s name a couple of times and he didn’t hear me, even though he was like 2 feet away. The I screamed it. Jackson looked at me with those gorgeous eyes and I almost forgot what I was supposed to be doing. Then I reached out and gave him the picture of Pumpkin. He looked at it and then at me with this confused look and said “It’s a cat…” Then I said “It’s for Dean. You and Ben have groupies, Dean needs one too.” Jackson laughed and then he said “Wow, Dean has his first groupie.” Jerad looked at the pic and said “Wow, thats a hot cat.” LOL. Then my friend yells out “We want them to have illegitamate kittens!” Jackson looked at her, raised his eyebrow and said “Illegitimate kittens?” Mary goes “Yeahhhh!!!” Jackson laughed and then put the pic of my cat in his jacket pocket. He was so nice but I’m sure he thought I was crazy.
