About.Com got to interview Jackson at the premiere of Twilight, to read the interview you can click here. It includes a few comments on his thoughts about vampires. Seventeen has also posted some new quotes from Jackson, you can read one of them below and the rest at the source or in the quotes section of the site:
Protective Brother
“When it comes to my sisters’ boyfriends, I’m either cool with them or my sisters know that I hate them. I’m pretty blunt with them and to the point. Back in high school, there were a couple of boys my sisters had and man, I let them know I didn’t like them. I was pretty upfront but my dad always had it right. Whenever my sisters brought them over to the house for the first time, he’d be teaching me how to clean the shotguns.”
Teen also got to interview Jackson as well (unfortunately, he was not included in the shoot due to scheduling conflicts). You can read a snippet of it below and the rest at the site. All of these interviews have been archived in the Press Archive.
TEEN: Did you enjoy physically changing your appearance to play Jasper? Jackson: I really enjoyed it. I was always a character actor when I was in theatre. I kind of find that it helps the audience, especially with Jasper. I mean I’m not actually blonde so I had to bleach my hair blonde. I’m fairly pale. I’m more of an indoor sports kind of guy you. I’m a musician so I spent most of my time awake at night and in the recording studio tucked away from the sun.
But I really do love to change appearances for a lot of the characters I play.
Thanks to Crazybabycakes on LJ we have scans from the December issue of Teen. Along with that, captures from the on set Dread interview, and a few additions to Jackson’s last few appearances. Also, the Encounters page has been updated. Along with the other interaction pages.
FINALLY, here’s some footage from the 100monkeys open mic from the 18th. Thanks to Juliana for the tip and vampirevaithwen for the videos. (You can check out the rest at her youtube).
We’ve finally set up the birthday project page up, just click on the image above to view all the details and whatnot. The birthday book will be set up for those who are unable to donate or send in a video. We’ll post about it two days before Jackson’s birthday.
Now on to some more news, MTV has posted a great article about the cast and all of their upcoming projects, which also included a sweet video of Jackson on set of Dread, you can watch it below. Captures from it will be uploaded as soon as possible. For those who can’t get the video to work, I’m working on getting it up on youtube and the Media Archive, so keep checking back.
Then there’s one of our personal favorites, Mr. Jackson Rathbone. Sure, he just got back from London, where he was shooting the Clive Barker horror film “Dread,” and also has the sequel to “Donnie Darko” in the can. But more than anything else, he told us, he just wants to make like Eric Yorkie and chillax.
“I’ve been working on my band firmly, 100 Monkeys,” he said of his other passion. “We’re releasing our first EP in the next two weeks, as well as our full-length improv album in a month, and then we’re going to be playing regular shows in L.A. for the next three or four months. We’re basically like jazz music, but with normal rock too.”
While filming “Twilight,” Rathbone remembered that many people in the cast found music to be a great way to relax between takes. “There were a lot of nights where I would play guitar, Nikki Reed and Kristen Stewart would sing along, or Rob would play guitar and sing, and we’d all sing with him, and I’d add a little harmonica here and there,” he smiled. “We were the Cullen Family Band.”
Summit has officially released a statement about a “New Moon” sequel, you can read it below.
Los Angeles, CA November 22, 2008 — Summit Entertainment announced today that the studio is officially moving forward with the production of NEW MOON, the second installment of its filmed franchise TWILIGHT, the action-packed, modern day vampire love story. The movie will be based on the second novel in author Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series titled, New Moon. The first movie in the TWILIGHT franchise, the self-titled TWILIGHT, arrived in theaters this weekend to sold-out showings.
Stephenie Meyer stated, “I don’t think any other author has had a more positive experience with the makers of her movie adaptation than I have had with Summit Entertainment. I’m thrilled to have the chance to work with them again on NEW MOON.”
Summit Entertainment’s “Twilight” grossed a staggering $35.7 million from 3,419 runs on Friday to score the second biggest opening day gross outside of summer after “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” which grossed $40.4 million on its first Friday in November 2005.
Also, for those that have emailed us, we’ll be doing our best to try and sending out replies to them. We’ve been swamped with a lot of stuff, so don’t think we’ve ignored your emails! We’ll reply to them as soon as possible.
Before I post this update. I just wanted to say, I caught the midnight showing of Twilight. I was genuinely impressed with Jackson’s performance as Jasper. Although his role was minor, he still gave a great portrayal of our beloved Jasper Hale. In fact, all of the Cullens were fantastic. And since New Moon has got the greenlight (article will be posted later), we can look forward to that birthday scene that Jackson has stated on wanting to do! Yes!
Now on to the real update. This is mainly a screencap/media related post! I have capped a ton of interviews Jackson has did recently and added a few of them to the Media Archive as well, so check them out!
And here’s the Fox 13 video. The segment on Jackson is pretty adorable, so be sure to watch it! The links below will direct you to the youtubes of them.
A lot of videos of Jackson have been released lately, thanks to Juliana and Jamie for some tips on these videos. I won’t be posting all of them here, I will be linking to the rest of them. The two below are interviews parts 1 and 2 Jackson, Peter Facinelli, Ashley Greene and Kellan Lutz did with Hollywood 411. I’ve added screencaptures from this, along with other videos, to the gallery.
And finally, here’s the latest gallery additions. If you attended the Hot Topic In-Store appearance and have any images/videos from it, don’t hesitate on sending it in!
I’ve added about 48 pictures of Jackson with his fellow Twilight castmates into the gallery. A few of these will be replaced with HQs soon, so check back for an edit on that. Speaking of HQs, a few of the ones in the Twilight Premiere have been replaced with HQs as well! I also added some more to the album as well and believe it or not, I still have more images from the premiere to add!
Finally, here’s a video of the cast at the Hot Topic appearance, thanks to Joleena for it. You can also watch another video at her blog where the cast introduces themselves.
I’ve added about over 40 images of Jackson from the premiere today bringing the album size to 72 pictures total. Along with this, captures from the Buzznet Interview and TwilightSource.Com Interview he did. You can watch both of those at the respective links. In the mean time, here’s the pictures and a short video of Jackson briefly talking about his tattoo.

Thanks to Michelle of BellaAndEdward.Com and Krystal for their contributions to the Twilight Live event Jackson attended yesterday. Check out the encounters page (4th bullet point) for Krystal’s and her friend’s run in with Jackson at the event as well.
And also, HUGE THANKS to Krystal for her images of Jackson! They are the tagged ones and are meant to be on Jackson-Rathbone.Com only. Due to the wishes of Kristine, do not crop out or try to remove the tags either.
Kristina, one of our site’s forum moderators, was with Kristine the other day at the Twilight Live event and got to do something really awesome for the site in terms of Jackson’s Birthday Project. Details on this will be revealed as soon as possible!
